Preview UEFA Euro 2008 on Rogers OMNI.1

New Weekly Series Euro 2008 Begins Sunday, May 4th at 9AM ET

TORONTO (April 28, 2008) – Soccer fans counting down to this summer's UEFA Euro 2008 ™ will get a sneak peek of European Soccer Championship action on Rogers OMNI.1 with the launch of Euro 2008. The new preview series will be presented in two languages and will air weekly prior to the games; the Italian language version of Euro 2008 launches this Sunday, May 4th at 9:00 a.m. with an encore presentation later the same day at 1:00 p.m.

For the kick-off episode of Euro 2008 Italian Edition host Vito Carressa (also host of Italian Afternoons on OMNI.1) will focus attention on the four teams in Group A: Czech Republic, Portugal, Turkey and Switzerland. Regular viewers of Euro 2008 will see athlete profiles; clips from qualifying games and learn the latest statistics and analysis.

“Our experience with soccer is that viewer enthusiasm flies off the scale when coverage is in their language of comfort,” says Renato Zane, Vice President, OMNI News. “Euro 2008 will highlight the world’s most popular game for Italian speaking viewers and also feature their views and predictions as part of the programme.”
