Ingredients
- 3 potatoes
- 1 onion
- 50g ground beef
- Salt to taste
- Pepper (lots)
- Salad oil (for frying)
- Flour (in bowl)
- 4 egg (in bowl)
- Panko (Japanese Bread Crumbs)
- Tonkatsu Sauce (Vegetable Fruit sauce “Bulldog”)
Preparation
- Wash and boil potatoes with skin on. This keeps out excess moisture.
- Chop onion into small pieces and fry with ground beef. Add salt and lots of pepper.
- Peel potato and mash and mix with fried onion and ground beef.
- Form mixture with hands into rounds or ovals. (Size of extra large egg)
- Dip each round first into flour, second into egg, and third into panko.
- Fry in deep fryer, (or frying pan with oil) until it becomes light golden brown.
- Serve with Tonkatsu Sauce.
