Funding principles and guidelines for the PSA Fund are below.
Purpose
Rogers Media Television intends to facilitate the production of 15 and 30 second Public Service Announcements (PSA) for the advancement, awareness and general communication of issues, events or achievements of various ethnocultural groups in Canada with an emphasis on diversity and social issues.
Types Of Programming That Qualify
To qualify for funding the PSA's must be 100% Canadian content. The PSA must be no longer than 30 seconds in length. All languages will qualify for funding with preference to PSAs that can be transcreated by the producer into multiple languages. Community support and ethnocultural needs will also be part of the consideration, when presented as written submissions of support from organizations.
Subject Matter
There will be consideration for all subject matter with emphasis on ethnocultural issues on ethnocultural activity that may be deemed as underserved or underexposed to specific or broad range of audiences.
All PSA's must meet the standards as determined by the Telecaster Committee.
Nature of Funding
Should the project be selected for production, a producer may be approved for up to $20,000 for a project submission provided by the producer.
Payment
The amount of funding provided for each PSA will be determined solely by Rogers Media Television on a case by case basis depending on the nature and objectives of the programme.
Ownership of the PSA remains with the producer.
Access
Provided that Rogers Media Television is given the option of a 3 second super on the bottom right of the screen and also has copies of all versions at their disposal, the PSA can be distributed entirely at the discretion of the producer or production organization.
Please Understand
Rogers Media Television has no obligation to approve any project at anytime under any circumstances. The approval and subsequent payment in respect of a project is at the sole discretion of Rogers Media Television.
There is no obligation to minimum or maximum approvals of any projects during any submission cycle.
Merit
The applicability for broadcast on Rogers Media Television properties shall be determined solely by the management of Rogers Media Television. There will be no standard evaluation process or any details provided in reaching decisions.
Projects will be approved based on their own merits and/or in conjunction with other applicants also under review.
PSA's will be chosen as the most appropriate to the needs of ethnocultural television in Canada at the time of submission and reviewed at Rogers Media Television's sole discretion.
