SENATOR DONALD H. OLIVER :
is a Halifax lawyer and recent Order of Canada recipient. He describes himself as a farmer, politician, author, teacher and businessman.
Senator Oliver has been active in politics with the Progressive Conservative Party for more than 40 years. During that time he has served as the party's national vice president - Atlantic region, and as Director of the PC Canada Fund.
Oliver has practised law in Halifax since 1965, where he has been actively involved in issues affecting the African-Canadian community. He is the recipient of the Harry Jerome Award for community service.
