ROSE ADAMS:
lives in Barrie, Ontario, where she runs her own law firm specializing in family issues and real estate. Adams grew up in foster homes, but overcame a difficult childhood to successfully complete studies at Georgian College and Osgoode Hall law school.
In 1991, the same year she entered law school, Rose Adams was crowned Miss Black Ontario.
Earlier this year she was one of six recipients of the Ontario Premier's 2003 Award of Excellence.
Adams volunteers for a number of non-profit organizations, including Out of the Cold, Big Brothers and Simcoe Literacy Network.
